Amphenol CIT currently produces a variety of equipment racks using significant quantities of structural composites. Composites are frequently the best design option when a fully enclosed rack is needed while maintaining a low installation weight and good product durability. Composite racks frequently are hybridized structures, containing traditional aluminum elements for attaching to the aircraft as well as supporting the electronic equipment inside. Amphenol CIT has developed many such racks for installation in the latest aircraft from the major airframe manufactures and has the expertise in-house to design, test and produce these products as complete installation solutions ready to bolt into the aircraft and slide in the LRU’s.
